Where the Heart Is
AN ANTIQUES DEALER has come to see Father Gilbert in the hope he’ll help her find the Esseltam Chalice—a 16th century artifact covered with gems and reputed to have miraculous healing powers. She is certain it is hidden somewhere at St. Mark’s Church. And as Father Gilbert soon learns, she’s not the only one who thinks so.
"Someone was in the crypt last night," the church’s handyman reported. "Do you see those muddy footprints on the steps? They’re not mine. Nor Mrs. Mayhew’s. And it looks as if they walked all over the church."
"Is anything damaged or missing?" Father Gilbert asked.
"No, Father. Not that I can see. Whoever it was walked right up to the altar, but didn’t touch the gold cross or any of the valuables there."
Clearly, the person who broke into the church believed the chalice to be of far greater value than gold. Join Father Gilbert as he’s drawn into a tangled web of deception that puts his very life in jeopardy. The search is on for the missing Esseltam Chalice in the Father Gilbert mystery Where the Heart Is.
