Joan Plowright as the Storyteller
Dame Joan (The Lady Olivier) is one of Britian’s best-loved and most distinguished actresses. Her landmark roles on stage include Major Barbara at the Royal Court and St. Joan at the National Theatre. Her many films include The Entertainer with Sir Laurence Olivier, Driving Miss Daisy, Dennis the Menace, Stalin, Jane Eyre, 101 Dalmations, Tea With Mussolini, Enchanted April, and the upcoming Return to the Secret Garden.

Ron Moody as Ben Weatherstaff
Ron became an international star through his creation of "Fagin" in the stage versions of Oliver! for which he won an Oscar nomination, a Golden Globe and many other awards. Other film roles include Herod in The Three Kings and Merlin in A Kid in King Arthur’s Court. He has also appeared in The Flight of the Doves and The Twelve Chairs. In the theatre and on radio, Ron has played Captain Hook in Peter Pan. His TV credits include the U. S. network series Nobody’s Perfect and The People’s Passion with Jessye Norman, and he also provides voices for several animated series such as Noah’s Island and The Animals of Farthing Wood.

Prunella Scales as Mrs. Medlock
Prunella is best known in the United States for her portryal of Sybil Fawlty in the classic BBC-TV comedy series Fawlty Towers with John Cleese. Prunella also has many other TV and film credits, including such productions as Emma, Howard’s End, Breaking the Code and After Henry. Equally at home on the stage, Prunella has played many leading roles in the West End and at the National Theatre, and she also appears in her specially devised entertainment, An Evening with Queen Victoria.

Lily Milton as Mary Lennox
Lily was born in New Zealand but now lives near Stratford-on-Avon, where she has appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company in A Christmas Carol. She made her radio debut as a Mouse in The Last Battle for Focus on the Family Radio Theatre.

Garrett Moore as Colin Craven
Garrett trained at the Arts Educational School in London. He has enjoyed working in radio since playing the title role in Antoine de St. Exupery’s fable The Little Prince for the BBC.

Alex Jennings as Mr. Craven
Alex won the Olivier Award for his performance as Peer Gynt with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has worked widely in the theatre and on radio, and his many TV credits include Smiley’s People, Hard Times and the title role in Ashenden. His films include A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Wings of a Dove.

Cathy Sara as Martha Sowerby
Cathy won the Carleton Hobbs Award for Radio and has appeared in many BBC radio plays. In the theatre, her roles have included Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. She made her movie debut as Sybil Grey in Topsy Turvy, Mike Leigh’s Oscar-winning film about Gilbert & Sullivan.

Thomas Orange as Dickon Sowerby
Tom trained at the world-famous Anna Scher Theatre in London. He has worked in television, radio, theatre and film, and was featured as Zach in the award-winning TV movie Goodbye, Mr. Tom.
