"Hezekias told me about the bird that descended upon Jesus. And the sound of thunder.” "Thunder! That wasn’t thunder. . .It was the voice of God!" Luke, the writer of the third gospel of Jesus Christ, must walk a life-and-death tightrope between suspicious Zealots and Roman officials. He searches for eyewitnesses to Jesus’ life and ministry as he authors The Luke Reports II. First, it is A Time of Madness when a bizarre series of events leads Luke to an elderly servant woman named Eunice. She tells him of the life and death of John the Baptist and recounts the early days of Jesus’ ministry, including His remarkable baptism. In The Hearts of Men, Jesus’ prediction that He would bring a “sword” between individuals and families has come true in the villages around the Sea of Galilee. Relationships are tested and faith is pushed to the limit as Luke explores the impact of Jesus’ ministry on the men and women there. Yet in the midst of it all, Luke discovers that deep faith and hope still exist in the hearts of those who are willing to follow Jesus’ teaching.
